Molecular crystal engineering is the design, synthesis and utilization of crystalline materials constructed via non-covalent interactions from molecular building blocks.
In Bologna we are particularly interested in the design, synthesis, characterisation and exploitation of molecular materials, with a focus on applications in solid state reactivity, solid-gas reactions, vapour trapping and sensing, and in the study of solid-to-solid interconversions and polymorphism control.
